Hair Extensions. We ALL know how much I love them by now… right?!  I have had my fair share of different kinds of hair extensions over the years. I started with Bellami Clip in Extensions, then Tape-in extensions, then micro bead extensions while I was a Mavs Dancer, and just recently I started using clip-ins again!

My new hair extensions are by the brand Luxy Hair Extensions. These, in my opinion, are THE BEST clip-ins. They are super soft and thick. The new Luxy hair line is called “Seamless” extensions, so they are virtually undetectable when they are in your hair and they lay much flatter than normal clip-ins. I used to have the problem of being able to see my clip-ins once I placed them in my hair. My other extensions also severely weighed down my hair and made my hair feel so HEAVY. With these extensions, I can put the entire pack in my hair and still feel good and natural..haha!

How to Use Them

Another thing I love about these extensions is how easy they are to clip into your hair and how well they hold. In the past, I would have a hard time perfectly placing the clip in extension and then even after I placed them securely on my head, if I would brush my hair sometimes they could fall out! HOW AWKWARD when you are in public!! I even did the whole “hold your hair and brush” technique but that didn’t stop them from slipping. I got so fed up with it that I would even tease the root of my hair before placing the extension to give it extra grip….that still didn’t work well. Plus, who wants a ton of tiny rat’s nests in their hair?

I have had ZERO problems with my new Luxy Seamless Clip-Ins. The color match is BEYOND anything I could imagine, they are such good quality, and they feel good when I wear them. You really can’t compete with that.

My Color

Because my hair is multidimensional in color, I decided to go with the Seamless Blonde Balayage color. I was really nervous before getting them in the mail because I would never consider my hair ombre or balayge, but when I looked at the solid hair color options, nothing seemed natural-looking for my current hair color. I get highlights; I never die my whole head!

Taking the sample extension out of the package, I was blown away by the softness of the extension and the perfect color. I clipped it into my hair and couldn’t tell where I had placed it! I went around asking my mom and sis if they noticed anything different about my hair and neither of them could detect ANYTHING. Mission Accomplished.

If you have been wanting to test out hair extensions, like I say in every extension post, my best bet would be to try clip in extensions first before going with something more permanent. As you know, I’ve have so many different extension types!

Who are Clip-Ins for?

Clip-in extensions are best for those that have either never had extensions before, have a sensitive head, or want to keep their options open.

Clip-ins are amazing because if you go to the beach, you can just take them out and your hair will be happy! I went to the beach with my micro-bead extensions (they don’t recommend that) and my hair was ONE HUGE RAT’S NEST. I spent the 10 hour drive back home combing my hair while Andrew drove! I love the look of them, but I also am not a high-maintance girl. Who wants to have to take out their extensions just to go to the beach for a week? And if you don’t take them out, it’s so annoying to NEVER get your hair wet the entire time you’re at the beach.

Clip-ins are a great option for those that are unsure about hair extensions, how they will look on them, or anything like that. I have lots of people asking about how extensions will look with their coarse, dry, thick, thin, etc. hair. Clip-ins are great for those that want a test-drive…and who knows…if you’re like me, you might just fall in love with them!

Truly, I loved having micro-bead extensions when I knew I wanted them long term. However, they are a huge investment (money wise) and I know many of us simply can’t see spending $2000 on hair. SO, these clip-ins are AMAZING and are definitely my go to when I want to amp up my hair look.

Styling your Clip-ins

These clip-ins are 20 inches long. If you put them in your hair and they are too long, I
would suggest going to your hair dresser and have him/her cut them for you so that they perfectly blend into your hair. The great thing about these seamless clip-ins is that they naturally blend in with your hair pretty well!

**If you hair is blunt cut, they will be harder to blend.

What they LOOK like

Ever wonder what the extensions look like once clipped onto your hair? I’m showing you exactly how they look when applied. The amazing thing about the seamless clip-in extensions is that…they are seamless! Traditional clip ins are really thick at the base and have the “sewn” appearance. These look like tape-in extensions but they are applied with a clip instead of tape/glue! GENIUS!

I love my Luxy Hair Extensions! If you have been on the fence about getting some, I would HIGHLY recommend trying these out! They are a fraction of the cost of tape-ins/micro-bead extensions, they last for months, and are GREAT QUALITY extensions. It really does matter the kind of extension you test out. If you get a low quality/cheap pair, you won’t like the results!

Thank you Luxy Hair for partnering with me on this post. All thoughts are my own.
