NYFW February 2026 Review
In the fashion world, this is the most exciting time of year! Fashion Week is at the top of every fashion-lover’s list. While I have never been to a Fashion Week, you better believe I am out here going to every website, instagram, and tiktok reviewing it! At the start of the year, the new season’s pieces start coming in and forecasting starts for Fall/Winter 2026. Usually, most of the trends we see in Spring/Summer translate seamlessly into Fall/Winter. Example: we are seeing funnel necks for spring outerwear….we will be seeing funnel necks for Fall/Winter outerwear. This helps me shop confidently and forecast with ease!
Today’s post is all about the most talked about, most exciting trends we are seeing for 2026. They may not all be my favorite, but they are definitely super hyped about right now! Personally, I like to add 2-3 trends each year that feel authentic to me. This helps you stay current, but without diving too deep into trends and creating zero personal style. For me, this year I am loving the trending animal print, feather details, and pink. EASY for me to incorporate that feels authentic to my personal style and can be pulled on years to come.

#1: Color Blocking is the new Monochromatic
2026 is all about the statements! In the past, you were the most chic if you had a head-to-toe look that was fully one color. For 2026, we are bringing back color blocking. My favorite way I’ve seen this is pairing bright colors together like orange & pink, green & blue, even pink & red. This trend is super easy to incorporate with what you currently have in your closet. Find a couple pieces of two different colors and style away. Regardless of your comfort level, we are seeing 2026 as the year of color and print!

#2: 80s Inspired
Every few years, a new decade is the driving force. We’ve seen 90s & 2010s most recency, and now… the 80s are back! Of course, buying vintage is super fun and a great way to explore the trend; however, 2026 is bringing 80s back with a slight flare. The shoulder pads are more rounded and exaggerated (less up, more broad), leopard prints are huge, and waist lines are almost always cinched.
I’ve been seeing a lot of oversized trench coats with an exaggerated shoulder, blazers with sharp lined shoulders and then a structured cinched waist, and leather jackets are so back.

#3: Animal Print
This one is probably my favorite. We are seeing the rise of animal print again! For about five years, animal print was a big no-no. I almost never saw anyone wearing it! Now however, animal print is huge! Leopard print & Zebra print are my top ones, but I bet you can find a few snakeskin prints that are elegant as well. Cow Print is also big for western wear, which is also a trend in itself.
If you don’t want to go super full out with the animal print, a great way to add the trend is a pair of shoes or a bag.

#4: Asymmetric Hems
I’ve been seeing the asymmetric hem online for the past month, but I haven’t really seen it in store. However, when we went to Chicago a couple weeks ago, I went into MANGO and the asymmetric hem was EVERYWHERE! It was wild. I love asymmetric hems, but what I’m really seeing now is the silk style cami top, that goes super long (almost tunic like) with the asymmetric lace hem. Then girls pair that with some oversized jeans. For me, it looks so blah, but I’m sure I could be convinced with a well styled outfit.
Regardless, you can incorporate this trend numerous ways. Skirts, dresses, tops…. off the shoulder silhouettes, high-low styles, etc! I’ve been seeing a lot of the high-low dress come back, too… which is exciting but also crazy!

#5: Silk
Silk is everywhere this season, too. Silk scarves tied around your head or waist, silk tops, silk dresses, and of course, silk pants! If you have been on the fence about silk, this is your sign to try something! Even a small detail like the silk scarf is a great way to test out the trend (can also play into the asymmetric trend).

#6: Funnel Neck Outerwear
This has been huge this year. It started circling back when the famous “Olsen Tuck” (hair tucked into a turtleneck sweater) started making it’s way on the scene again end of 2025. Now, everywhere I go (online or in store) I am seeing a funnel neck jacket. Personally, it has to be the right opening because if that funnel neck hits me in the wrong place… all I can see is a double chin waiting to happen! Anyone else?
I think the trend is definitely cool… but I will be very picky with this one.

#7: Statement Necklaces
Remember getting on social media and seeing everyone post that 2026 is the new 2016? Well, this is our perfect example of that coming back full force. Large, loud, statement necklaces are back. Not necessarily those chunky, bright colored, collar necklaces from 2016 (please never again), but maybe something with a longer chain and one solid, large statement at the end. Think a large shell, pearl, metal, etc. I’m not sure if I love this trend, mainly because I don’t really care for wearing necklaces. But totally can be convinced to try it!

#8: Feather Details
Ah, a favorite trend for me. Feathers are sooooo back (did they ever leave??). My favorite way to see this is a feather trim detail on sleeves, hems, or even a bag. Not a big fan of the full feather dress (hello, Big Bird), but to each their own.

#9: Stripes
Really, all textures and patterns are back, but we are seeing a ton of stripes on the runway. The Rugby Shirt was HUGE fall 2025 and I would not be surprised if we continue seeing it all of 2026. This brings in the trend of color blocking and texture. I think this trend is especially cute in summer (yacht vibes) and fall!

#10: Leather
Leather, to me, is more timeless than a trend; however, we are seeing it even in Spring/Summer this year. Leather skirts, shirts, jackets, obviously bags, blazers, I’m even seeing leather baseball hats! For summer, opt for pastel or white leather looks to bring in the trend.
Honorable Mentions:
- Polka Dots
- Really any fun pattern
- Color and color and color
- Wedges are back
- Western is still trending
- Big belts for women
- Large clutch bags
What trend are you most looking forward to?
