This week has been full of highs and lows. It all started when my blog got cancelled randomly. I was panicking, worried, and unsure of what would happen. Would I have to start all over? I had no idea. After about 2 days of struggle, I was able to get this baby back up. During that scary time, something amazing happened to me; I hit 10,000 followers on Instagram. This has been SUCH a huge goal and milestone for me since I’ve started my blogging journey. 10k may not seem like a ton of followers for many influencers and bloggers out there, but for me this is such an amazing place to be.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me since day one. Thank you to everyone who have just recently started supporting me. THANK YOU to everyone who continuously checks out this blog, comments, shares, and connects with me. This is such a dream for me to be a blogger and see my blog grow every single day.

Reflecting on 10,000

1. Creating Meaningful Content

When it comes to blogging, the biggest thing I have learned is to always stay true to yourself and create content that YOU personally love. There have been many times when I posted a photo or blog post that I absolutely love, but it didn’t get very many likes on instagram. What I learned through that is that while it may not have gone viral on instagram, my loyal followers loved it….and that is what matters.

I’ve stopped trying to play the game, create content that is trendy, and saying yes to many random collaborations. Whether I make $$$ or do it for free, I’ve learned that my blog is more than just a scrapbook of random things, but my brand. I take pride in my brand. I take pride in my readers. I always want to create meaningful content for YOU.

2. Work Hard. Hustle. Don’t Cheat.

I have seen so many bloggers go from 100 followers to 12,000 followers over the span of one week. Now, sure, some worked really hard and got those organic followers….but after talking with many, a lot of them just bought them. As excited as I am about finally hitting 10,000 followers, I know that my worth as a blogger is not about the number of followers I have. My mission with blogging is not to be a super famous blogger, but to inspire, encourage, and educate my readers. If you build it, they will come. I genuinely love fashion, fitness, and hair/makeup, so it is just natural for me to share my tips, tricks, and looks. I am so thankful I never bought followers, likes, or anything of the like because the following I have built is genuine, loyal, and REAL. I love you guys.

3. Education

The absolute best thing I have done recently for my blog is educate myself. Whenever I workout or drive to Dallas (which can take me an hour or more during rush hour), I always listen to educational podcasts. These are usually about blogging, business strategies, or health information. I have learned a lot just through listening to podcasts and then practicing what I learn.

I also am constantly chatting with other blogger friends and picking their brain about how they grew, what they’ve learned, and any advice they might have. I love collaborating with other bloggers and uplifting others throughout this process. Life is TOO SHORT to be self-centered and only focus on boosting yourself.
