Spring FEVER // Investment, trends, and style forecast 2019

Winter Blues. I never, never, thought that I could be affected by them. I pride myself on being positive, optimistic, hard working…the list of happy adjectives could go ON. Unfortunately, this season I have found myself down in the dumps more often than not. Work life has been challenging, my inner motivation has been slacking, my blog has suffered from it, and I wake up and feel unmotivated to even workout!

Happiness is a choice. Everyday, I find myself really trying to put myself in a happy state…haha! After a lot of consideration, I have found the main culprit to my strange attitude: winter. Fall is my favorite season and then it perfectly travels into Christmas Time, which of course is always so fun! Then, after the Holiday Season, there’s this awkward stretch of time after the fun festive parties and before the new spring fashion. My motivation is SLACKING.

I started to think that I just lost my drive….that is until I started online shopping for spring fashion. Call me a Shopaholic, but Retail Therapy really is a thing. I’ve got the itch to buy, buy, and buy!

Figuring I’m not alone in this sentiment, I thought I would put together a post forecasting the Spring trends for 2019, key investment pieces to grab now, and some perfect outfits for spring dates, events, and coffee chats with friends.

Spring Wardrobe Builders

The Color PINK

Pink is going to be so big this season, I can already feel it!! I have been seeing pink in almost every store I’ve looked at….and it’s still only the beginning of the year. Not only pink….but hot pink! Get your hands on one of these adorable hot pink dresses that you’ll wear time and time again. These dresses are perfect for Valentine’s Day, Spring Break, Easter…..just WEAR PINK!! If dresses aren’t your thing, go for pink sweaters, rompers, pants….you name it.

Prints

If you read a blog and the author tells you that prints will be huge this year, go ahead and stop reading and discredit that source completely. Okay…that might sound harsh but let me explain. Prints (animal prints) have been in for YEARS. Hello, Cheetah Girls?? Snakeskin has been a big thing for at least 2 years…that’s when I first got a snakeskin accessory. A year ago I bought my most sought-after booties: snakeskin booties. And already, I’m seeing lots of fashion with either snakeskin or leopard print. If you don’t have something animal print in your wardrobe, now is the perfect time to get something. Not only is it fashionable, but, as history will tell us, it is TIMELESS (if you do it correctly).

Wedge Sandals

The perfect shoe for any occasion in spring/summer. I own 2 pairs of wedges and I am already on the lookout for the next BEST pair. Not only are they adorable for spring, they are also ideal for walking. Once you find yourself your perfect pair, you’ll never want to take them off and be planning all your outfits around them. Wedges have been BIG for spring and summer for as long as I can remember.

Other Trends I LOVE

Flare Jeans: Love these with an oversized sweater tucked in, a cute crop top, or something showing some shoulder!

Babydoll Dresses: These are so easy to just throw on with a bralette underneath and maybe some cute wedges. Throwing your hair up in a bun with a hair scarf or something is ADORABLE too. These also double really nicely as a swimsuit cover up for when it’s Pool Season!

Boyfriend Jeans: When you find a fitted pair of boyfriend jeans..you know, the kind that fits your waist, makes your booty look good, but is perfectly loose after that….these jeans will be your GO TO.

Pastel Colored Leggings: We all know that I eat, breathe, and honestly sometimes SLEEP in activewear…its part of my job and basic lifestyle. To bring in some spring colors, I have a feeling pastel leggings will be a hit.
