Staying Active & Fit While Working From Home

Happy Tuesday, you guys! It looks like most of us will be working from home this week (and who knows how long). Gyms are closing, schools are closing, it truly is astonishing what is going on in our world right now.

It can be super hard to work from home and even more impossible to stay fit and healthy when gyms are closed and you are in a small space! Motivation can be lacking, too. As I sit here typing this, I’m reminded of why I even started blogging. I have always been big on motivation, staying fit and healthy, and getting stuff done! While staying in can be so daunting, it is also the perfect time to build some healthy habits.

1.Stick to your morning routine

I know this might seem hard to do, but even with the endless possibilities of working from home, having a good morning routine truly does set your day up for success. It doesn’t matter what time you like to wake up; if you have a routine, you will have a much higher success rate and motivation than someone who doesn’t. If you don’t have a strict morning routine yet, now is the perfect time to create one! Waking up at the same time every day (even while working from home) will help you get into a schedule and be more productive.

2. GO workout!

Most gyms are closed right now. I know the gym I workout at is closed until further notice and our little apartment gym is closed, too! At first, I was really nervous about staying fit when I can’t weight train or do the stair master, but those are truly just avenues for fitness, not the only way! There are so many great at-home workouts on YouTube now, it is easy to find your favorites. You can try kick boxing, walking in place, push up challenges, and the list continues! I’m going to link some of my favorites here, too.

Such a good workout that hits EVERYTHING! Great for Apartment living too…no noise!

One of my favorite fitness gals, this one BURNS!

I have done this workout countless times and I am ALWAYS feeling it. The best 10 minute abs I’ve done.

Super good! I used to do this in my small office at the high school I worked at during my conference period….#dedication!

3. Get outside

Going outside can really help with motivation. The outdoors also help calm your mind, set your intention, and we really shouldn’t be cooped up inside 24/7 (just practice social distancing!). Try going on a walk or run (great way to get your workout in) whenever you can.

4. Try new healthy recipes

I’m always saying that I want to try new recipes, but then I get into the routine of doing what I know I can do. Well, if you are bored at home, go on Pinterest and try out some new healthy recipes you’ve been pinning! Treat this like a challenge; make new healthy recipes a couple times a week and see how they turn out. You have nothing but time on your hands, now!

5. Drink a gallon of water a day!

This is one of my favorite fitness tips; one that I have lived by for years now but often forget to do. However, now that we are quarantined, there is no excuse not to drink all your water!

Drinking a gallon of water a day helps flush out toxins, hydrate your body, and help you focus! So, if you are having a hard time focusing on your work while being home, try upping your water intake.

What drinking a gallon of water daily can do:

slim your waist

get dewy skin and not dry skin!

hydrate your scalp–no more flakes

keep you fuller, longer

help with digestion

clear up your skin

promote hair growth

cleaner teeth & better breath

eliminate toxins in body

help you focus

and SO MUCH MORE

I hope this post motivates you to stay fit & healthy, even when working from home! The more active you are, the better you can focus on your work, and the better you FEEL! Don’t let what’s going in the world stop you from going after your goals….or just simply feeling good! What are you going to add to your routine this week?
