What to Wear to a Fall Wedding + Wedding Dress Codes

Ever get a wedding invitation and wonder what the Dress Code means? I’m debunking all the wedding lingo..for you and your man! ALSO, with all the fall weddings coming up, I’m sharing some of my favorite dresses for fall weddings!
Shop the Look:

I used to think that summer was wedding season, but this year…it’s definitely FALL! I mean…I can’t complain, it truly is the best time of year (obviously, I’m very biased). With all these upcoming weddings, I thought it would be the perfect time to talk about fall wedding attire.

First things first, let’s talk about dress code. Ever get a wedding invitation and you have absolutely no idea what the dress attire actually means? With so much wedding lingo going on, it can be quite confusing when it comes to choosing your outfit!

Wedding Dress Codes…debunked!

Casual: Literally ANYTHING goes! Of course, try to put some effort into it..

Business/Dressy Casual: Skirt or trouser pants paired with a nice blouse or top. Sometimes you can wear a pair of dark jeans, but I would opt for not. Men: dress pants and blazer or sports coat.

Cocktail Attire: Simply put: a dress. Something nice. Definitely not a dress you would wear to Church on Sunday. If you hate wearing dresses, you can kill it in a super nice pant suit… but this is a fancier dress code. Men: Suit & Tie.

Black Tie-Optional: You can wear a fancy dress of any length. Make sure it is fancy. This is more for the guys… wearing a nice suit instead of a tux! Men: Dark suit or tux

Black Tie: Wear something polished. Most say you need to wear floor-length dresses, but I would say as long as your attire is very nice, tailored, and polished, you will be good! You should feel distinctly evening-worthy!! Men wear tuxes.

Fall Wedding Inspiration

I love wearing fall florals, fall colored lace dresses, dresses with sleeves, etc. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite fall dresses right now…which one is your favorite?
