Spring Break 2019 Ideas

Spring Break is almost here! It is currently under 30 degrees here in Dallas, but that doesn’t stop me from dreaming of spring! Stores are starting to put out all the fun spring pieces, friends are starting to plan mini vacations….I think it is safe to say, we all have Spring Fever!

While “Spring Break” is normally a term used in school, I think it is really important to practice that self-care! Even when you are working, taking time to declutter, detox your mind, and hit that “reset” button will not only help emotionally and physically, but it can even make you more productive at work! WE ALL need to take some time to relax now and then.Β

If you are looking to kiss those Winter Blues goodbye, keep reading for some fun ways to spend your Spring Break!

#1: Mini Vacation

The most classic of all classics. Whenever I think of “Spring Break”, I think of grabbing all your friends and heading to the beach. Now, I have never actually done this…. but still would be so fun. In college, I was always doing something for Spirit Squad during Spring Break, which I wouldn’t trade for anything! But, if you do get the chance to take an entire week off of work/school, going to a beach would definitely be on my list.

#2: Road Trip Vacation

If traveling to a beach is a little out of budget or too far away, opt for a fun road trip vacation. Anything under 6 hours is completely do-able and makes for the perfect trip. I would look for a hotel that is more like a resort to make the trip extra fun! You can hop in the pool (indoor or outdoor), sight-see, and be a tourist for a weekend. Check out local coffee shops and cafes for a super cultural and memorable experience.

#3: Stay-cation

One of my all time favorites! The say-cation is great for those that don’t have time to sit in a car traveling or only have a day or two to beat those Winter Blues! Andrew and I did this once and it was so fun. We stayed at a nice hotel in Downtown Dallas (about 40 minutes from where I live!) and played tourist in our own town. It was fun and really brought Dallas to light in a whole new way. It was extremely refreshing and a quick and simple way to hit that “reset” button.

#4: Pamper Day!

Okay, so let’s say you can’t take any time off work/school….no problem! One of my favorite ways to reset is to schedule a Pamper Day! Get your hair done, get a manicure, go get your favorite latte, read your Bible, maybe go see a movie….anything that makes you feel AMAZING! Sometimes, all you need to recharge is a little self-care and alone time. Getting your nails done in a pretty “spring” color or adding some brightness or a fresh cut to your hair can really put you in the Spring Mood.Β

#5: Friends-Date

Lastly, if you can’t get off work or your friends aren’t able to, plan an entire Saturday of non-stop activities with your BFFs. You can start by going to a fun workout class, then get brunch (my favorite meal), and plan out some other fun activities for the rest of the day. There’s seeing a movie, getting nails done, shopping, bar hopping….you name it! Scheduling a “friend date” and intentionally planning some quality time activities will not only put you in a good spirit, but help your friendship as well!
