With things starting to open up and all the weddings going on, I thought this would be the perfect post to make! If you are planning on attending a wedding this summer, this post is for you! From destination weddings to backyard, there is a dress for any occasion. **Of course, be sure to read the wedding invitation for specific dress code guidelines. **
What to wear: Summer Wedding Edition
Beach Wedding:
Beach weddings can be difficult because you want to look fancy but not…overly formal if that makes sense. My best advice is to go for a solid colored dress that is form fitting and flattering on your body. With such gorgeous scenery, your dress won’t get lost in all the flowers, sand, and ocean lol! I personally would opt for a bright color or at least something fun. Pulling your hair in a chic low bun is also a good idea!
Outdoor Wedding:
This will definitely depend on what state you are in, but in Texas… it gets HOT. I would wear something flowy and light weight. My favorite dresses would be a one shoulder or something that is flirty but again…flowy. When it is sticky outside and you are dying to find some shade, the best option is something that isn’t sticking to your body.
Traditional Wedding:
Indoor wedding? Traditional crowd? Still want to look chic? For this style of wedding, I would wear something modest but flattering. For summer, I am all about pretty colors but not a lot of pattern. Pattern is often not timeless and I feel the most “classy” wearing a solid colored dress. Opt for something that has a unique factor like ruffles, one shoulder detail, or a slit!
Formal/Black-tie Wedding:
The most fun, right?! Most of the time, a floor length dress is the most appropriate for these (again, refer to your wedding invitation). I would go for something that is solid in color, maybe a silky fabric, and you feel confident in. If you love your arms, maybe do a strapless or one shoulder. If you are more of a leg fan, find a dress with a slit. You can’t go wrong with a black, champagne, pale pink, light blue, or dark green either!
