Rush & Occasion Wear Haul

Even though we are experiencing the quarantine, that shouldn’t stop us from getting some AWESOME outfits! I’ve been getting several requests for some rush outfits as well as some great dresses for all occasions. This post is dedicated to those of you who are shopping for anything CUTE that will make you stand out in a crowd.

At Baylor, we didn’t have rush until January (spring rush), so I didn’t get to utilize summer colors to have fun with my outfits. This roundup is so cute and if I were rushing again, these are things I would definitely wear.

Rush Tips:

Day One: You want to be conservative but also show your personality. NO bra straps ladies… that is just so not classy. Day one is normally shorts and the t shirt that recruitment assigns you. To make it your own, wear a fun pair of high waisted (conservative) shorts or skirt and a cute pair of sneakers (love me some platforms!) or even a cute flat. With all the walking and standing you are doing on day one, you definitely want to keep things cute but comfy.

Day Two: Now you can start adding your own personality. Normally, on day 2 you can wear what they call “snappy casual”…or something along those lines. Think cute dresses, shorts and a cute blouse, skinny jeans and your favorite top, etc. You can definitely show your personality while still looking put together and effortless.

Day Three: Day 2 but even more fancy! As the days go on, your outfits need to get fancier and fancier. For day 3, I would definitely wear a dress. If dresses aren’t your thing, wear skirt or a really nice blouse. Oh and some kind of heel. You won’t be doing as much walking and a lot of houses let you sit on this day!

Day Four: The most important day!! GO FULL OUT with a nice dress and heels.

TIP: No matter the attire, always do your hair. Also, when it comes to rush, you want to either wear something or do your hair in a way that will make you memorable. I was known as the “girl with the purple dress” because I wore this vibrant purple dress and a Lauren Conrad inspired top knot…something no one else was wearing! It was easy for girls to remember me.

BONUS TIP: Remember to stay true to who you are. If you love wearing cool kicks, wear them! If you always always wear black, wear that! When going through recruitment, sororities want to see who you are and your personality!
