A line & Boho
One of the most timeless silhouettes out there!! The A-line cut is a tapered and fitted top that gradually flares out. This is the most universally flattering shape for all body types.
Additionally the gorgeous sweetheart/strapless neckline is so flattering! You really can’t go wrong with this style.
This dress is super romantic with the lace, tulle, and gorgeous details in the layers. This dress can easily fit your wedding vision because it can be transformed so easily with accessories! This style is perfect for outdoor weddings too because it is SUPER light weight, breathable, and moves so nicely in the wind. If you don’t want any bling, a simple lace dress is the way to go!
Trumpet
SUCH A GORGEOUS DRESS. I LOVE ALL THE DETAIL.
The Trumpet style dress is also flattering on many different body shapes. Trumpet dresses are extremely similar to mermaid dresses, with just one slight difference;
Trumpet differs from Mermaid dresses because of when the flare-out begins. Trumpets start flaring out around mid thigh where as Mermaid dresses flare out at or below the knee.
These gowns are perfect for a bride that wants to show off her body! Hey…you worked hard for that bod!! Might as well show it off. This silhouette is also flattering on most brides and really adds a boost of confidence the second you put it on. **Tip: the more curvy you are, the less fabric. I know that sounds backwards, but trust me, it helps. I learned this while doing my pro-dancing stuff! A more form-fitting dress is beyond flattering.
Something special about this gown is all the lace beading, and intricate details. This is definitely the gown for brides that want that extra glam appeal! The thicker straps also help hold you up and give you a lot of support and comfort.
Beachy/Jersey Dress
Getting married in Cabo? Hawaii? Need something beautiful but easy? LOOK NO FURTHER. When I say this dress is comfortable, I am 100000% downplaying it. SERIOUSLY feels like you are wearing glamorous workout clothes.
This style of dress is ideal for those that wanna party at their reception or are having a destination wedding. You still have all the glitz and glamor without sacrificing comfort. This dress is extremely light weight, too!
If you want show off your figure, this fabric is perfect for you! It hugs you in allllll the right places.
Sheath/Fitted
This dress just SCREAMS retro 40s and 50s and I love it. For the more traditional bride, you really can’t go wrong with a simple, form fitting, sheath style dress. A sheath dress is not super structured or tight. This style dress is fitted at the waist, but pretty straight everywhere else. It is especially timeless and glamorous.
Dresses like these (simple and traditional) look amazing with some fun jewelry or even a tiara. You can easily put your own taste on this one because it is such a simple and classy design.
If you want to look like a traditional bride, this is THE dress for you. Dresses this style are especially perfect for the bride getting married in a church
(Meghan Markle anyone??).
A line & Princess
Like I said earlier, A-line dresses are universally flattering on most body shapes! This one is especially perfect for the brides that want some lace detail, but also girly glam! Adding some sparkle to your wedding dress can really make it feel romantic and like you are going to an event.
High necklines are also really great for brides that want to feel super comfortable (and not worried about bending over haha!) or for those that want to draw the attention up to their face or amazing hair style.
Convertible
And finally, the super trendy and cost-effective, convertible dress! Long sleeves are S T U N N I N G for weddings, but sometimes you don’t want to be stuck in sleeves all night (especially if it is hot). Dresses like these are an amazing option for those that want to have their cake and eat it too. I love how easy it is to detach the sleeves from this dress and totally transform your look.
A lot of brides actually purchase 2 separate dresses (I’ve also seen 3…) for their wedding. One for the ceremony, one for the reception, and sometimes one for the getaway moment. This dress completely cuts out the need for buying TWO because you get an amazing 2-in-1 dress.
I’ve also seen some amazing gowns where you can remove the tulle skirt after the ceremony and then showcase the trumpet/mermaid style dress or even a shorter dress that was underneath! These are such simple and fun ways to give you two looks for the price of one. You’ll also drastically cut out the changing time needed, which helps you get back to your guests even quicker!
