When it comes to fall fashion, there are some trends that will never die. Fall is my favorite season, and not just because of the weather, pumpkin spice, or Halloween. I LOVE the fashion! If you’re like me, you have been on all of your favorite online stores, looking for new clothes you can add to your wardrobe. It can be so confusing sometimes and I always feel somewhat….guilty?…for wanting to buy more clothes. I’ve rounded up some top trends for men and women this fall, and honestly, every fall! Don’t feel the shoppers remorse when you buy these items because they won’t go in the “donate” box next year! Yay for lasting fashion.
Men’s
When it comes to menswear, fall fashion is alll about the muted neutrals. Olive, gray, navy, black, cream…these are your basics. These will never go out of style!
Sweaters: chunky knit sweaters are a staple in the closet. When it comes to sweaters, you want to buy one that will last you a long time and is COMFORTABLE. I can’t begin to tell you the number of times I have purchased a sweater that I liked but really only bought it because it was cheap…but then you never wear it because it is scratchy, uncomfortable, and feels terrible on the skin. When you buy a quality sweater, like the one below, it will last you seasons and you will actually enjoy putting it on..haha!
Thermals: Every guy needs a good thermal Henley top in their wardrobe too. Fall is all about layering, so finding key pieces that look GREAT on their own, but are also easily transitioned into the cooler months is a must. Good staple pieces or menswear this fall will be a nice vest, a good dark wash pair of jeans, classic button downs, and of course the half zip pullover.
Layering: Fall menswear is all about layering. Like stated above, look for pieces that you can easily layer. Especially in Texas, it can be SO cold in the morning…then be a sauna in the afternoon…but then be freezing in buildings. It can be so hard to dress. Look for good layering pieces like a vest, button down, cardigan, etc.
Chino Pants: These add such great texture to any outfit. Chino pants have been around for a while, but this fall they will be even more trendy! They come in so many different colors and are so easy to wear. We all love comfort, am I right?! Simply adding a fun color pant to your outfit can really elevate your style and give it all whole new look. To shop chino pants, check out these! My favorite ones are these!
There are a lot of fall basics below. If you are a guy or shopping for a guy, make sure you think about what best fits your/his own personal style. These are all good staples for any closet, but if the style just doesn’t feel right, no need to force it. Fashion is all about listening to your mind, figuring out what works for you, and owning it!
Women’s
When it comes to women’s fashion, there are always SO many new trends that stores are trying to make you think you need in your closet to be happy and to be “fashionable”. It can be SO hard to narrow down WHAT exactly you need vs. what you might like for a few weeks and then throw it in the “donate” box. I’ve rounded up some key pieces you need in your wardrobe this season that WON’T go out of style in a few weeks and you can still rock them for years to come.
We all know the basics, a good black dress, nice button downs, a GOOD pair of denim that fits you well, and of course, a good sweater and some plaid pieces. Start with these and then you can add more trendy pieces once you already have your basics.
Suede & Velvet: Suede has been such a staple these past fall seasons and it isn’t going anywhere. Suede and Velvet are so fashionable right now. If you’re like me and just can’t seem to rock the trend… haaha.. opt for an accessory. A good pair of booties or a bag that are velvet or suede will help bring that style into your wardrobe without throwing off your style game. hah!
Red: Red is THE COLOR this fall. It is perfect when wearing all black! A good pair of red booties or a red bag are perfect to complete your look. If you don’t feel like buying red accessories, opt for a pretty red sweater or even a bold red lip.
Sweaters: This goes without saying…but sweater season is REAL and always in. If you are needing some good quality basics, take a look at the ones I have down below. These are all GOOD quality (not that terrible scratchy kind you want to take off your body within seconds of putting it on…yuck), durable, and because of the style/design, won’t go out of style within the next few weeks.
