The Interview

1. When did you start blogging? Why?

I started blogging in February of 2017. I started blogging because I have always had an extreme passion for fashion and needed a creative outlet. I have been obsessed with clothes my entire life even when I was a little kid. My love for blogging really started when I met Caitlin Covington 5 years ago in Charlotte. I loved all of her stuff so much and though “hmmm I wonder if I could do this?”. Four years later I finally decided to give it a try!

2. What has been a challenge you’ve overcome? For blogging or anything in life.

The biggest challenge that I have overcome in blogging is losing a best friend because of it. It was really hard for me because it became very competitive between the two of us and there was ultimately nothing else I could do to try and save the friendship. I tried just about everything that I could to make it work but at the end of the day, I had to accept reality for what it was. However, I now realize that everything happens for a reason and it is best to only surround yourself around those that truly love you and are truly happy for you no matter what. I also realize that friendships shouldn’t be hard. Friends are supposed to make life easier! I may have lost a “friend”, but I have so many true, genuine friends in my life and that’s really all that matters. I decided to focus my energy on them rather than negative energy on one failed friendship.

The biggest challenge I am still overcoming in life is not having a relationship with my father due to an opioid drug addiction. The addiction has been going on for a huge part of my life, but I haven’t talked to him in over a year. Wondering everyday if today will be his last day or if he will get help is truly the biggest challenge I have ever faced.

3. What’s your daily routine like?

Every morning I wake up, post my first blogging instagram post for the day, drink a cup of coffee while answering e-mails, go to the gym, shower, then do whatever else I have planned for the day. Most of the time that consists of either writing blog posts and answering e-mails and getting collaborations lined up or doing blogging photoshoots.

4. What is something many people don’t know about you?

Many people don’t know that I suffer from severe anxiety. It is something that I have to constantly work on and battle everyday. I overcome it through my faith, reading scripture and doing my daily devotional and working out, which helps to give me those endorphins that my body needs.

5. What is the best piece of advice you were ever given?

Life is too short to be unhappy. If you have something you are passionate about, you just have to do it.

6. What is a goal you have for your blog? Is there something you want to see more of on your own blog or in your business?

My goal is just to continue to grow and be true to myself. I think it is so easy to get caught up in what everyone else is doing and I want to try to not to do that. I also want to get to a point where I can grow my actual blog audience and write a blog post every single day during the week. I also want learn how to better utilize Pinterest to help my blog grow. Right now, Pinterest is definitely something that I am not every skilled at.

7. Favorites! Favorite color, season, item of clothing, designer, retailer, movie, and holiday!

Color: Blush

Season: Spring

Item of Clothing: a good pair of distressed jeans!

Designer: Show Me Your Mumu and Lovers + Friends

Retailer: Revolve, Nordstrom and Express

Movie: The Notebook and Seven Pounds

Holiday: Christmas

8. Who inspires you? Why?

In the blogging world, Caitlin Covington inspires me. She has just come so far, works so hard, and is so passionate about what she does. She is goals and I hope to be even half as successful as she is one day. In everyday life, my mom really inspires me. She is such a strong woman and has gone through so much this year. She is my biggest fan, is the one who encouraged me to blog full time, and is always there to give me any advice or words of encouragement. She is also one of the hardest workers I have ever met and when she loves something, she puts everything she has into it.

9. What is your guilty pleasure?

My guilty pleasure is definitely red wine and reality TV. I cannon get enough of either.

10. What are 3 words that describe you?
