Happy Wednesday everyone! I have just been loving doing this Influencer Series. It has been so fun for me to get to know other amazing bloggers and influencers in the social media field. For this week’s Influencer Series, I got the privilege of chatting with Lauren (blogger of LC-Steele.com). Not only is she a total #girlboss, but she is SUCH a hard worker, has the cutest country accent, and always dresses PERFECTLY. She is a big time blogger, so if you want to be constantly inspired by fashion and lifestyle posts, be sure to check out her instagram here.
A Little About Lauren
- She spent an entire summer being Belle at Disney #goals
- She has the CUTEST southern accent and currently lives in Alabama!
- Lauren is married to her dream man, David!
- While in Law School (CRAZY, I know), she started her blog
- While getting her undergrad, she was on the dance team. So, we are basically the same, right?!
The Interview
1. When did you start blogging? Why?
I started blogging in law school when I was buried beneath constitutional law books and property law. I just needed SOMETHING creative and VISUAL. And I had loved following cupcakes and cashmere for years so I wanted to start my own. She was the original!
2. What has been a challenge you’ve overcome? For blogging or anything
in life.
Letting go of what people think about it. Posting selfies on the Internet, especially when you have a law degree, is pretty hard to do. I was always trying to “make the grades” and “get the job” – until I did, and it wasn’t all that great. I LOVE LOVE LOVE what I do. But still, when nobody in your family understands or respects it… it’s hard. BUT, life is short and I’m proud of my work and happy with my career path. But finding that peace was hard.
3. What’s your daily routine like?
Well I’m TRYING to make it much more structured with 2018! haha So the day I strive for is: up and att’em by 8:00 (I hate the mornings) Hit the gym for a morning workout, then run errands while I’m out. Then home and respond to emails for 2 hours. Then edit pictures, plan content, write blog posts, link it all, etc. then dinner, a glass of wine, and a show with David and Nilla. The most surprising thing about blogging is how much TIME it takes.
4. What is something many people don’t know about you?
Most people don’t know I’m actually not that into fashion. I don’t care about the labels. I don’t care what the tag says. I just care about how it makes me feel.
5. What is the best piece of advice you were ever given?
You just do you, and Imma do me. That’s a line from a rap song, but still… I think too often people get wrapped up in converting people to their train of thought. I love this quote because it reminds me to stay in my own lane, not compare myself to others, and.. you know, do me! haha
6. What is a goal you have for your blog? Is there something you want to
see more of on your own blog or in your business?
I just want to refine my craft and always improve. Improve with the backend of SEO and analytics, Improve in the quality of content I put out there “on the line”, improve with growing and sharing things I love with my audience 🙂
7. Favorites! Favorite color, season, item of clothing, designer, retailer,
movie, and holiday!
color, – blue
season, – fall (I’m SUCH a basic white girl)
item of clothing, – my ed westwick “I’m all about that Bass” sweatshirt
designer, retailer, – zara! Hands down! Best bang for my buck
movie, – I’m going to go with titanic – it’s just so good.
holiday, – CHRISTMAS!
show, – GOSSIP GIRL! Forever and always
8. Who inspires you? Why?
Other bloggers – for a million reasons. I love seeing what inspires them and see someone share themselves on the internet day and and day out is impressive. The dedication and time it takes, the thick skin you develop, the resolve to always do it better – they are real women with real voices and real style. So many of them inspire me daily. I’m so happy I’m a part of this world!
Isn’t she adorable?! I love her answers to number 4 and number 5! Be sure to follow her on instagram and check out her AMAZING fashion blog here.
