Overall, I’m feeling very editorial-glam in this outfit. HA, see what I did there? But really, this outfit is SO out of my comfort zone…and I think that is exactly what I need sometimes. I have been getting in such a rut lately with my health and fitness, blog, wardrobe, honestly so many things in my life. Sometimes, I feel like I do the same thing every day and it can get a little monotonous and uninspiring. Yes, every day there are things in life that are different, but sometimes I get stuck in a routine.

I just recently purchased this black overall set after a poll from my instagram told me to! HA! How’s that for spontaneous?! I have always wanted overalls, but have always felt so weird wearing them. They always look SO cute one everyone, but I thought that there would be NO WAY I could pull this look off. These overalls are from the amazingly cute Dottie Couture Boutique. They have me wanting to move to Indianapolis so I can shop there all the time! They have super fast shipping though… so I guess I’ll survive. I paired these overalls with some SUPER different loafers. I call these my NYC Magazine Editor loafers. Fitting, right?! Lol. They are comfortable and give me a little bit of height, which I love.

Stepping out of your Comfort Zone

Like I said, this outfit is WAY out of my comfort zone. Overalls? Loafers? Thermal? Yeah… not my usual girly-girl glam look. I love it though. Putting this outfit on inspired me to step out of my comfort zone more. Life is too short to be bogged down in the same day-to-day rut WE put ourselves in. If you feel like you’ve been in a funk lately, I challenge you to try to wear something out of your comfort zone and wear it with complete CONFIDENCE.

Dare to be Different

I was recently chatting with some other bloggers about social media, instagram tips, other bloggers, and everything in between. We were analyzing other successful bloggers and trying to figure out the HOW and the WHY some seem to grow quickly while others (like my own blog) grow at a slower, steady rate. What are we missing? We were talking about how we need to just start doing anything and everything these big time bloggers are doing. She posts about cardigans and dark wash denim? That means I need to. She posts about doing an ad with FabFitFun? That means I need to talk about FabFitFun.

After thinking about this, I just knew in my heart that was NOT the kind of blogger I wanted to be. Sure, I post about trends and you can find me sporting the newest trend from time to time, but I think the biggest thing y’all want to see from me is NOT how I can copy other bloggers, but for being myself. That is how we stick out from the crowd…not by following it.

This day and age it is so challenging with social media. Everyone and their mother is an “influencer” now, so being different and standing out can be so challenging and troubling. This outfit, like I said, is way out of my comfort zone, but I am daring to be DIFFERENT. Life is too short to follow the crowd. That goes for when you are finding friends in school, working at a new job, the list could go on and on. Dare to be different and always stay true to yourself.
