Fitness Friday #4: Healthy Holidays at Starbucks

When it comes to coffee, let’s just say, I am an addict. When it comes to Starbucks…oh man! I practically live there. Either I am working on my blog there, meeting friends, or just constantly going in to grab coffee, I LOVE STARBUCKS!

It’s the Holiday Season and I am a firm believer on NOT missing out on the tasty treats just because you are on a diet or trying to live a healthy lifestyle. It is alllll about balance. BUT, if you are like me and just want to enjoy your Starbucks drinks but make them healthy, this post is for you!

My Biggest Starbucks Secret

If you know me, you know what I am about to say. I have been doing this for years and I LOVE it. If you want to taste the yumminess of the holidays but you don’t want to add in all the calories, try this out!

I always order a grande iced coffee with some kind of cream. That is either coconut milk, almond milk, or light cream. Then, add in 2 pumps of whatever syrup your heart desires. You still get the sweetness of the holiday drink, without all the extra sugar (grande usually  has 4-8 pumps of flavors), carbs (allll the milk in lattes), and fat.

For instance, a good order is: Grande Iced Coffee with Light Cream & 2 pumps of Gingerbread. Try it! It tastes just like a latte but with more of that bitter coffee flavor…that we all love anyways!

Hot Drinks:

Hot drinks are fun too, and especially with the weather in Texas being like 30 degrees, it is a recent necessity! When it comes to hot drinks, I personally think almond milk or cream tastes the best! If I am trying to limit my dairy intake, my favorite drink is a Grande Pike with almond milk and 2 pumps of gingerbread. Can you tell I love gingerbread?!

Other Drink Ideas:

Peppermint Mocha: Grade Pike Roast with light cream (or add your own!!) and 2 pumps of peppermint and one pump of mocha. YES, sugar free syrups have less sugar, but they have more additives, more carbs, and more fat. If you are going to get the syrup, just get the syrup.

Holiday Caramel: Grande Pike Roast with almond milk and 2 pumps of caramel and one pump of hazelnut. YUUUUM.

Gingerbread Latte: Grande Pike Roast with almond milk and 2 pumps of gingerbread and one pump of vanilla.

Chestnut Praline Latte: Grande Pike Roast with almond milk and 2 pumps of chestnut praline syrup

Peppermint Mocha Frapp: Grande light espresso frappechino with 1 pump peppermint, 1 pump vanilla, and 1 pump mocha. No whip cream. Light Mocha drizzle optional 😉

You get the drill 😉 What’s your favorite Healthy Holiday Starbucks drink??
