Autumn Bucket List 2023

I can almost smell the PSL!

Fall is almost here, and to get us in the mood, I’ve created my annual Autumn Bucket List for 2023! This is my favorite way to kick start the season. What I’ve found while getting older is that you have to be way more intentional with every season. It is so easy to just go with the motions, go to work, clean, cook…. you know the drill! When creating and following a bucket list, I’m reminded to do fun things that really help me enjoy every season.

This Autumn Bucket List is, hopefully, a little bit different than other ones you might find on Pinterest. I wanted to make a bucket list that was actually attainable and fun, not strange and outlandish. My hope is that I can check off every box by the end of fall, and hopefully you can, too!

You can make this the background on your phone or print it out! I love printing it out and then whenever I do something on the bucket list, I put a cute fall sticker on the check box! It’s like an added piece of decor!

Create a Fall Playlist

On spotify, I love setting the intention for the season by creating a new playlist. Creating your own allows you to add your favorite songs that really resonate with you (we all have those random songs that we love for the season). I have created my own playlist, if you want to give it a listen, too!

PSL & Fall Shopping

This goes without saying, but there is nothing better than going to Starbucks, getting a fall drink, and hitting up shops like Bath & Body Works, Target, TJ Maxx, and Spirit Halloween!

Go to a Pumpkin Patch

I never did this growing up, but as an adult, I absolutely love it. There are a lot of great pumpkin patches in my area that are all super fun to visit. Grab some friends, take some pictures, and pick out the best pumpkins you can find!

Decorate for Fall

Another obvious one, but decorating for fall is a must-do! To make this more fun, I like to deep clean our house a couple days before (so I’m not super tired and grumpy while decorating). Then, I like to lay out all of my fall decor that I have and delegate what items I want in each room. Put on your favorite fall playlist, light some relaxing fall candles, and have a cozy & fun day!

Have a Fall Picnic

Fall time is so cozy, and normally the weather isn’t too chilly to enjoy being outside! What you’ll need: get a picnic basket full of some cozy and fun treats. My favorites would be an autumn salad (love a kale & cranberry mix!), some fall cookies, and maybe some sparkling apple cider. SO cozy.

Go on a Hike/Long Walk

With the crisp autumn air, grab a friend (or your dog!) and go on a nice hike or long walk. With the leaves starting to change colors, this is such a beautiful time to enjoy the outdoors!

Star Gaze

If you live out in the country, this might be a little bit easier! Grab some cozy blankets & hot chocolate and find some stars! Having a truck or convertible is easier, but any car will do!

Make Chili

There are so many chili recipes I love to make. From sweet potato chili to white chicken chili, the options are endless. This makes for such a cozy night!

Paint Nails a Fall Color

Recently, I have been loving painting my own nails! Give yourself an at home manicure with a pretty burgundy nail color!

Go to a Football Game

Tailgating, cheering on your favorite team, and hanging out with friends… you can’t go wrong! Whether you go to a high school, college, or pro football game, it is always a fun time. I love creating a cute football outfit, too!

Buy Your Favorite Fall Candles

My favorites are always from Bath & Body Works. Not only do they smell amazing (have a great “throw” as the candle experts would say), but they almost always have some kind of sale, making the candles so worth it. My current favorite is Pumpkin Spice Latte and Marshmallow Fireside.

Wardrobe Refresh

This has not only helped my closet look nicer, but also really helps me with planning outfits! Every season, I refresh my wardrobe by putting clothing that I won’t be wearing in either a spare closet or stored somewhere out of the way. My goal with my closet is to make it feel like I am shopping at a boutique with only things I absolutely love.

Arrange an Autumn Bouquet

Fall florals are some of my favorites! I love going to my local grocery store and grabbing a few flowers that look great together and then arranging my own bouquet. I like to keep this refreshed every 1-2 weeks (depending on how long they last) to always have some fresh color in the kitchen.

Make Pumpkin Bread

Growing up, my momma always made sure we had an endless supply of yummy pumpkin bread in the kitchen. I love making this at least once in the fall!

Bonfire

It really doesn’t get anymore fall-cozy than a bonfire! Grab some blankets & your favorite drink, invite some friends over, and have a fun night. Bonus: roast s’mores!

Cozy Fall Spa Night

This might be one of my favorite things to do when setting my intentions for the season. Light your favorite candles, draw up a bath with your favorite fall bath bomb, and put on a fun autumn or Halloween movie! You cannot go wrong!!

Have a Game Night

Game Nights are such a classic! With everyone always looking at screens, putting away your phone and locking into a board game or a game of cards is too fun!

Read a Fall Book

From mystery books to old classic novels, this is a great way to unwind and unplug. One of my favorite mystery books (that is low-key kind of spooky) is this one. A classic book that I want to read this fall is this one.

Make a Thankful Tree

This is something I recently discovered on Pinterest and want to create my own version. Doing a fun DIY craft in the fall is always so fun for me. What you need: paint a fake tree gold, either buy leaves or make your own paper leaves, and write down something you are thankful for on the leaf and then hang it on the tree! It is decor & a gentle reminder duo! Some people make thankful boards, too!

Halloween Party

Halloween is such a fun holiday for me. I love “spooky season” and getting to dress up. As an adult, again, if you aren’t very intentional, this holiday can be a little boring. Last year, we threw a Halloween party that was so fun, we just might make it a yearly occurrence!

Make a Homemade Pizza

This is not only SO yummy, but also equally as fun! There are so many great
(and easy) recipes on Pinterest, too!

Create a Fall Wreath

Again, I am so big on DIY crafts in the fall. I love changing out my wreath decor for every season. Sure, you can buy a pre-made one at Hobby Lobby or Kirklands, but making your own is just WAY more fun and satisfying!

Make your Own PSL

My good friend and I tried doing this back in our college days…. I will never forget the look on her face when we spent, not kidding, four hours trying to make these PSLs and then they tasted H O R R I B L E. Here are an easier recipe I will be trying this year.

Plant Mums

Mums are the most beautiful plant for fall! Home Depot typically has some during the fall season that you can plant or pot!

If you try any of these activities, tag me so I can see!
