I’ve rounded up the main trends we are seeing for 2024 from the Spring-Summer 2024 Runway shows recently. I’m all about sticking true to your own personal style and going against the grain, but I really love getting inspiration from the Runway! Almost every designer this Spring/Summer showcased something from these trends, so I think it is safe to say that these trends will be everywhere this year. 2024 is the year of femininity, girl boss power, throwbacks, and pastels.

Imagine a wardrobe filled with bows, pinks, and ruffles. Sound like heaven? 2024 is the year of Girlcore, which I am so here for. Everything is currently covered in bows. From 3D rosettes to ruffles on hemlines, Girlcore is making a grand entrance on the runway this season. Brands like LoveShackFancy are going to be at the front of the trend this year.
Not just for NYE parties, sequins and shimmer are making a big wave this year. The metallic pants we all know and love from the holiday season will be here to stay throughout every season in 2024. From date night to work wear, shimmer is here to stay!
Remember in the 2000s when everyone (boys & girls) wore a polo color shirt? Well, the trend is back and better than ever! Think polos, plaids, pleated skirts, and academic blazers. Channel your inner Gossip Gril and play up that relaxed-but-has-money aesthetic. Grab your old Abercrombie & Fitch and let’s have some fun!
Fashion during the 80s and 90s is coming back for 2024. During this fashion timeperiod, labels were just not a thing. “Quiet Luxury” was HUGE. Simple pieces that still make a statement for your wardrobe are BACK. Dressing in a way that is simple, yet elegant will be the best inspiration for 2024.
Remember how in 2020 we all started glamorizing sweat sets? While I love a good athletic fit, workwear is BACK and coming in strong. Dress like the executive boss you are! Blazers, tailored pants, or an office-ready dress will be big staples this year.
Now, before we get too nervous, we aren’t talking anything too sheer. But, layering sheer pieces ontop of items will be big in 2024. A sheer midi skirt ontop of a mini skirt, a sheer jacket, or even a sheer blouse. Playing with textures and leaving little to the imagination is a big trend for this year.
This is a trend my husband will not like, but the XL handbags are big this year. Think of a bag that you can essentially throw everything in from your wallet, sunnies, gym clothes, planner, and maybe even a laptop with charging cables. I’m talking anything and everything! XL bags have been popular in the travel world, but in 2024, you will be seeing them all the time.
I hope I’m not the only one who is just so here for this trend! I love a kitten heel. Not only are they easier to walk in, I think they are so classy and chic. Absolutely timeless. Kitten heels are perfect for work wear, date night, and anything in between.
My inner 16 year old self is cringing at this trend, but hey… I might have to try it again. Capri length pants are back. Celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and Gigi Hadid have already been spotted sporting this trend, so odds are, this trend will be big in 2024. Anyone remember your mom calling them “Pedal Pushers”?
So Daisy Dukes… yeah we are going even shorter! Think “boy-short”. Not sure if this is a trend that I will do, but what are y’all’s thoughts? Would you wear?
Trend Worthy colors this year will be: Millennial Pink, Shades of Green, Metallic Gold, Lavender, White & Black! We are going back to the pastels, sticking to some solid neutrals, and adding some flare with metallic gold. Last year, metallic silver was everywhere! This year, we are expecting to see gold pop up more. Lastly, the simplicity of an all white outfit or an all black outfit is huge this season. Some designers are even going old-school and creating most outfits as a white and black combo. I am SO here for this trend!!
