Graduation is such a milestone. Whether that is from high school, college, or your graduate studies, we want to celebrate. COVID-19 has made that look very different this year. Many graduations are postponed, enforcing social distancing, or not even letting friends/family join the celebration. Because of this, it is even more important to show your loved ones just how proud you are of them and their accomplishments.
My sister graduated last weekend with her masters in counseling. This was SUCH a milestone because unlike most Master’s programs, hers took 3 years! I am so beyond proud of her getting through such a rigorous program and coming out on top. Unfortunately, her ceremony has been postponed until August (we think) and she is already starting her 18 month internship. By August, will it even feel that important anymore??
We had also planned to go to Disney World. In fact, we would be in the most magical place RIGHT now. Talk about sad! So, last weekend I decided to throw her a little party to celebrate all that she has done. Of course, I wish it would have been bigger, but with Quarantine we did our best.
I got a few messages asking for tips on celebrating graduation during this time, gift ideas, and how to make someone feel special. I hope every graduate feels EXTRA special this year. COVID-19 cannot take that away!
We did a small party. By small, I mean her parents (that she lives with), me, and my husband. I decorated the house with grad balloons and princess decor (yay Disney) and made a funfetti cake with tall gold candles. We played games, opened up gifts, and celebrated the best way we could!
Below are some gift ideas for your graduate. I got her the gold and black Kendra Scott bracelet which she LOVES! Happy Shopping!
